I am excited to announce that the Firefighter Scouting/Explorer program Is coming to Blair County!
THIS MEETING IS OPEN TO ALL VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENTS, NOT JUST THE AMFI, so forward this to your friends!
Come to Bellwood this coming Wednesday evening, November 30 @ 7 P.M. at Excelsior Fire Hall for an informal presentation by Steve Dimiceli.
Questions, comments and suggestions are all welcome!
I know fire departments have been struggling to recruit juniors and the best parts about this program include liability insurance coverage for new charters, an organized and safe curriculum and tremendous resources for group leaders.
Exploring is a career based program designed to provide hands on experience and job training to teens who have completed the eighth grade. In the case of the FIREFIGHTER Exploring program, a post can serve as the junior member training arm of the department. Posts generally meet twice a month and completing requirements towards the career achievement award can guide program and activities for the post. Some benefits to the post include junior member recruitment support, access to Boy Scouts of America activities and facilities for Explorers, and awards and achievements materials to help recognize and ideally retain, Explorers who can join your fire department.
Steve Dimiceli, is looking forward to meeting all of you. If you can’t make the meeting but want to know more about the program, call Steve @ (412) 414-1809 or e-mail:
I will be on hand with some updates regarding some exciting news regarding the AMFI as well. Don’t miss this meeting November 30 @ 7 at Bellwood!
